In order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam Tourism (July 09, 1960 - July 09, 2010), the 1000 year anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, and to select and encourage outstanding front office staffs, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will organize the second Hotel Front Office Competition from September 11 to 14, 2010 in Hanoi.
More than 100 front office staffs of more than 100 hotels from 25 provinces and cities throughout the country are going to attend the competition. Candidates are willing to attend the preliminary competition on specialist skills and foreign languages. After that 10 excellent front office staffs will be chosen to take the final round with challenges of ‘case solving' and the questions from the examiners. Apart from the preliminary competition and final examination, the candidates also register for the exam of presenting stories which its content related to specialist skills of hotel front office. The Organizing Committee will grant 34 awards in this festival of competition, including prizes for individuals, groups, for excellent stories and some other special prizes. So far, the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the hotels which have staffs participating in the competition are actively preparing for the opportunity to exchange, inquire experience, and improve the special skills and quality to serve tourists. This is also the occasion to introduce the uniform style of front office staffs which will help hotel managers refer, select, and improve ones to suit with its own style. The competition is within the framework of National Action Plan on Tourism in 2010, and also mobilizes the active supports from some major travel companies such as Saigontourist, International Silver Shores Resort, OSC Viet Nam and some other companies. The competition opening ceremony will take place at 17: 00 on September 11, 2010 at the Hoa Binh (Peace) Hotel in Hanoi. The final round, awarding and closing ceremonies of the competition will take place at the Au Co Art Centre at 13: 30 on September 15, 2010.
